Moving up in each grade means that the children need to be prepared for more challenging concepts. In the classroom, with large numbers and a standard teaching delivery for all levels of intelligence and understanding, children may feel they are lagging behind in their homework and submissions. It is important that we get one concept right before progressing to another. And it is here that our individual attention, guiding the child with understanding concepts and making them practise those concepts come in handy. Once there is clarity in the child’s mind on how to apply rules and formulae, problem solving becomes child’s play.
